“Southtown San Antonio was part of a neighborhood revitalization project in the 1990’s and grew to encompass five neighborhoods”, according to Visit San Antonio. These neighborhoods, some homes being designated historic within each subdivision, include King William, Collins Garden, La Vaca, Lone Star and Roosevelt. It’s just south of downtown San Antonio and you can walk, rent a bike or take the VIVA buses to visit and get around.
Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum, Lone Star Art District, Habitat for Humanity, and the King William Historic District are all located in Southtown along with a heck of a lot of restaurants. As far as restaurants, I've had the pleasure of eating at only a handful - I'm telling you there is so much to see and do in the Alamo City.
Homes range from $129,000 to a three-story penthouse at $6,750,000 in May of 2020.
The area considered Southtown has E. Cesar E Chavez Boulevard on the north, 37 on the east, 10 in the south and 35 to the west.
